CIRAC, the Charlottesville-area Immigrant Resource and Advocacy Coalition is a network of individuals and organizations formed to support and protect our immigrant neighbors, particularly those facing discrimination, detention, and deportation. We recognize that criminalizing and removing immigrants is nothing new, but rather a consistent pattern in U.S. history. It is also clear that these forms of violence are tied to two centuries of American political as well as economic intervention in Latin America and the Caribbean. CIRAC holds itself accountable to Sin Barreras, the Legal Aid Justice Center, and other partners offering direct services to immigrants.
